ComBase is a web-based system administration package for Linux[*] that supports addition/removal of Linux user login (i.e., "POP") accounts, as well as maintenance of the Radius authentication database. ComBase has the following features:

  • Login security - Security provided by login with User ID and password. Menu-driven design provides for configuration of multiple levels of user authority (Security Officer, System Administrator, Operator, User) with customized web-based menus for each level of security.

  • Radius Account Management - Creation, modification, and deletion of Radius access accounts, including the ability to place users "on hold".

  • User Login Management - Creation, modification, and deletion of user login accounts. This function also provides editing of the user "comment" ("Gecos") field that contains user name, phone numbers, and any associated Radius access account code.

  • System Status - System status display shows the number of mailboxes and Radius access accounts defined. Status display of any mailbox shows the associated user name, date/time of last message arrival, and read date, including the number of characters currently in the mailbox.

  • Radius status - Displays the current status of each dial-in port via analysis of the Radius logfile. Shows the associated user account active for each port, as well as the time online.

  • Audit trail - Logs all changes via a system status transaction log file, also tracking the number of POP accounts and Radius accounts on a daily basis.

This package is written in 'C', and includes user-customizable templates for web pages used for interaction. All interaction is via these "template" pages, which are editable to allow customization or translation to languages other than English.

ComBase is available online as a demo (request it via the Info Form), as a ELF executable, or in full-source code format. When provided in source form, the package includes the Jive dynamic web page development kit - allowing creation of web pages using template pages from CGI programs. Both the executable and full-source formats include one year of E-mail support and three months of toll-free telephone support to assist in installation.

[*] System Platform: Linux. Porting to other Unix or NT platforms on request.
